what are projects beagleboard offering this year.and how can i prove myself
before selection?

There are some project ideas listed on the elinux.org page [1].
Previously Jason Kridner had a short little test to complete to show
that you are serious about being a part of GSoC [2] but I'm not sure
what the process is this year.
