RE: [beagleboard] Where should I put useful knowledge about BeagleBones

Thomas;

You may want to add this schematic as well.

What I had to do to control the power to the Beagelbone was switch both the USB +5V (red wire)

And external 5V at the same time.

I found that I could not simply cut the red wire and power everything from the external 5V supply.

This setup allows me to power a device which requires more than the 500mA supplied by the USB.

(like high power WiFi and Bluetooth)

The community wiki is at http://eLinux.org/BeagleBone. Contributions
to cleaning that up and adding subpages would be greatly appreciated.
If you feel the content is final, we can talk about how to put it on
http://beagleboard.org. For any project, I highly recommend creating a
link at http://beagleboard.org/project. If you have a cape available
for purchase, you should get it listed at http://beaglebonecapes.com.
