(request) Gigabit Ethernet

Hi,

AM3359 is said to have support for two 10/100/1000 ethernet. Can you give us a Gigabit port or two?

Not in the current configuration of the BBB.

While on this subject Gerald, I was curious about this myself sometime around last week. Would it be possible to rework the BBB ( user mod ) to “easily” add GbE ? Or does it not make sense ?

Sorry if this is a silly question, but I am not exactly an EE, and merely curious.

No. It would require a design change and relayout of the board. I am not sure we could even get the PHY to fit in the current profile.
