last time i seen something like that was because EMMC was programed with uboot.
can you boot with out an sdcard? if so, then it may be related to the uboot in EMMC.

Boot from eMMC works. Now, I’m trying to boot from the SD card which is not working and kind of stuck in loading the rootfs.

Board Info: BeagleBone AI64
Image: core-image-full-cmdline(Yocto Image)

What size SD card are you using. There appears be issues with larger sized ones I think 64G and above from memory. There have been a few posts.

Thanks for responding on this issue. It was my error. After making a custom image, the rootfs has a different path for loading image.

Changing path on grub,

linux /Image root=/dev/mmcblk1p2 rootwait rootfstype=ext4 to

Steps that I followed:

  1. Boot from eMMC
  2. Insert the SD card
  3. restart it and then in the grub modify the location.

Worked!!

Now I’m looking into why I need to boot from eMMC first to make the SD card work.
