second ethernet interface?

I would like to add a second ethernet interface to my xM.
After reading the manual, it says to use the USB OTG port.

1/ Are we forced to use the USB OTG port? If so, why?

2/ Any hardware that you recommend (and that you tested on your side) ?

Regards,

No, you can use one the USB host ports and plug in a USB Ethernet Dongle. You can also add a WIFI adapter. There is no native Eternet interface on the processor.

Hi Emmanuel,

I’ve used the Zippy2 from Tin Can Tools. It’s out of production now, but the original Zippy (which has the same features, except has a different Ethernet chip) is available.

Alan.

I sent this a few hours ago, but it never showed up on the mailing list or archives. My apologies if you get this twice.
