Should I create a 'Live' boot image on a BBB eMMC?

I have a BBB that can lose power at any time (sigh). I’m using an Ubuntu 12.10 (Qantal) image. Should I install a normal boot image or a ‘Live’ boot image on the eMMC? I’m concerned about corrupting the filesystem on the eMMC.

Thats a good question, I wonder the same myself. However I would think you could do something like making the rootfs read only and have a user directory ( or something ) mount to something like USB, network FS, or something like that.

There is no access to any externa device or network. I was thinking of makeing the rootfs read-only and mounting a RAM disk to write to (maybe mounting over /var/log). Any thoughts?
