Software support for beagle board -XM rev A

Hi All,

I would like buy beagle board XM. Before that I am interested to know what all base port support it has. I mean what all OS support it has ? I am interested in Android/Amstrong.

Also I wanted to know if I can connect HDMI out from board to my TVs HDMI in directly as my TV doesn’t have DVI- in.

You can place orders into any of the authorized beagle distributors. we will start shipping the end of this month. It will support all the same OS as the current Beagle version does. This does include Android and Angstrom.

HDMI and DVI-D are the same interfaces. If you use an HDMI to HDMI cable it should electrically drive your TV. However, you may need to adjust your board settings to get the right timings for your TV.

DVI-D (including as provided by the HDMI connector on the BeagleBoard)
does not include the digital audio signals.

Hi,

Does Android on XM work with the currently available SGX video drivers
and TI DSP video codecs (in particular the OMX_TI codecs)? Or these
need to be ported?

The best place for this question on Android is on rowboat@googlegroups.com.

We do support Android on Beagleboard XM platform, includes SGX and all
other peripherals on board.

The OMX TI CODECs are still not stable yet, but we are working on
this, it will be made available soon. But the ARM side of software is
all stable.

We are also planning to release a Android Development Kit (Android
package) that supports all TI platforms like OMAP35xEVM, AM37xEVM,
BeagleRev C4, Beagle XM, AM35xEVM platform by end of this month.

Thanks. I am located in India Bangalore. As per IDA systems (authorised distributor) in India, XM is available with them only after Sep 2010. Which other distributor can get me the board early?

IDA is one of the first ones to get boards. Currently, there are no disributors with -xM boards because we have not begun shipping them yet. It is not yet the end of July.
