Survey on open source and its influence on communities

Hi,

I'm a researcher in the field of open source beyond software.
Currently I'm investigating the special meaning of openness and its
importance for the communities in this field.

Your opinion as Beagle Board community member is very important to
me!
That's why I'm inviting you to fill out my survey. Answering the
questions may take about 5-7 minutes. The individual responses will be
kept strictly confidential, aggregated results will be published as
soon as the survey is finished.
Your response will help advance my research on the nature of hardware/
software open source projects and help improve the quality of open
source projects.
I can also provide some specific results about Beagle Board, if you
are interested in details about your community.

The survey is conducted on a per project basis. In case you receive my
request more than once, it's because you are involved in several
communities. It would be great if you would fill out the survey more
than once, for all projects which are relevant to you.

Hi again,

I'm planning to publish first results by mid October and I will be
able to include all answers which arrive until Monday, October, 5.

Therefore I would be very happy if some of you - who did not yet
respond - find the time to fill out my survey until Monday.

So far I received 9 answers from your community, thanks a lot to those
people! But aren't there some more Beagle Board users/contributors
around? :wink:

I have filled out the survey. Will you be posting results here? I'd be
interested to know what you discovered about this community (assuming
enough participate).

I will publish aggregated results about all communities on

Assuming that enough people from the Beagle Board community participate in
the survey, I can of course post some specific results about this community
