Testing Motors and Drivers and the BeagleY-AI?

I am testing drivers for motors and feeling like the heat from the motor is a bit high…

I can put a thermometer on it if necessary but I think that can easily be solved by what some others know currently.

I thought at first it was the resistor(s) on the GPIO pins that go to the hex inverter, 74HC04N, but I have changed the arrangement of it all…

I tried three, separate configurations of the resistors for the GPIO pins I/O. I am using two pins as output and one pin as input.

Would I need specific logic in the code to handle two GPIO pins as output if I only have one GPIO pin as input? That must sound awkward, i.e. like I need two inputs for two outputs.

I think the driver is supposed to handle the two to four ratio of logic. The two pins (GPIO) that are output seem to make the motor hot by way of the 24v PSU being used.

Just to note, I have had some “success” with other chips and configurations…

I used a couple samples found online for GPIO usage on STEP/DIR and INPUT. Anyway, if there may be something I am missing, please let me know. In the meantime, I will try to get the circuit in simpler terms (able to be viewed instead of blahing away).

The secret lies within. I will just have to listen to @lranders and others when it comes to handling some gains in mA per GPIO line from the peripheral.

Well, back to the ole, drawing board. And Pspice for TI has changed a bit since I last looked.

So, the wiring diagram and future datasheet are shelved. Okay, well. Thank you and this is a long awaited build.

So, if I figure out more, reports and reports.
