Recently I have bought new BeagleY-AI board and hit some challenges with image and imaging.
The first point: I couldn’t run bb-imager on Windows 11(with latest system updates on 08/22/2025) and finally I could flash the board using balena and Raspberry Pi imager. On this no problems, but wanna know why bb-imager is not working on Windows 11(the installation was successful, but when try to run it does nothing) ?
Second point: I have downloaded last image from official source named as ’ BeagleY-AI Debian 12.11 2025-06-30 XFCE (v6.12.x-ti)’ and there were a lot of head ache to understand that is not suitable for my board(by opinion of ChatGPT), because after flashing and installing the CD card to the board the Windows 11 didn’t recognize the board as external device. Then I tried to use another image name as ’ BeagleY-AI Debian 12.11 2025-06-30 XFCE (v6.6.x-ti)’ and there were no problems, after connecting the board the Windows 11 recognized the board as external device and I could connect to the board using ssh. The question on this is: how to understand what is more suitable image for my board ? In the user manual for initial setup there are no notes on that.
