trouble updating ubuntu on beagle

In running updates on my beagle black ubuntu I had the following errors:

update-initramfs: Generating /boot/initrd.img-3.15.3-armv7-lpae-x5
WARNING: missing /lib/modules/3.15.3-armv7-lpae-x5
Device driver support needs thus be built-in linux image!
depmod: ERROR: could not open directory

depmod: FATAL: could not search modules: No such file or directory

depmod: WARNING: could not open
/tmp/mkinitramfs_ddBceU/lib/modules/3.15.3-armv7-lpae-x5/modules.builtin:

Errors were encountered while processing:
cpp-doc
gcc-doc
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)

looks like some issues with kernel modules or some such and something
about device drivers, then couldn't process some doc updates or
somesuch..... What is all this...... and how can I go about
fixing it such that updates are successful?

Thanks,

Eric
