Ubuntu Maverick Install - Login information required

Hi all,
I downloaded and installed the Ubuntu Maverick image on my BBxM by
following the instructions here https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ARM/OMAPMaverickInstall

As specified here http://elinux.org/BeagleBoardUbuntu#Maverick_10.10_2
I used the Login info as user name: ubuntu / password : passwd but
could not able to login to the system.

After the install during first boot I did not got any prompt to
configure password and other information.

Can someone tell me the correct login information or a way to reset
the password.

Thanks,
Mrityunjay

user: ubuntu pass: temppwd

Sorry the login information that I was using (and as given on the
eLinux page) is
user: ubuntu
password: temppwd

But its not working, any way to reset the user password ?

The OMAP netbook image (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ARM/OMAPMaverickInstall) does not have a predefined user-name and password.

During your first boot, the system prompts you for the first boot information username/password, time zone etc…
Did you add them ?
(I think you did)

Hey Aadeesh,
As I mentioned in the first mail, After the install during first boot
I did not got any prompt to
configure password and other information.

Please let me know a way to reset the password.

Thanks

No prompt like no DVI output???

Did you happen to read their note: "Booting the image -> On
Beagleboard xM rev A3 and B"

https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ARM/OMAPMaverickInstall

That's the on big difference between my Demo Image and Ubuntu's
official images... It's very hard for them to push any updates...

Regards,

I have proper DVI output on the screen where I can see the GUI to
enter user name and password, but during the first boot I didnt get
any prompt to set login and location information.

Yes I followed the instructions on the link and I am able to get the
DVI output.
Any way to reset the password, please !!

Okay, then it should work..

Nope, not with their images.. (There is no default user, no root,
etc.. so if their ubiquity script doesn't run to competition there is
nothing you can do..)

Either bug them on #ubuntu-arm that image seems to have broken, or run
my demo images on elinux..

Regards,

Roberts elinux images works like a charm.

It would be nice to load the elinux images on your SD cards (using his instructions).
I too replaced Ubuntu OMAP images with ubuntu-10.10-r4.

Aadeesh
