use of multiple display capes

Can one use 2 display capes on the Beagle bone at the same time? I’d really like to have the DVI-D with audio cape installed along with one of the lcd touchscreen capes. Is there any means that this could work?

Hi Eric,

I had odered first the Chipsse multimedia cape to be used with my
beaglebone and LCD cape from TIGAL. And as that does not work, they
sent me the DVI with audio cape without checking wether this will work
with my setup or not. This also does not work, which can be checked
easily in the schematics which first TIGAL had access to.
The thing is:
LCD7 and both DVI-capes uses the same data lines for the display data.
But both are fixed to different resolutions. This cannot work at the
same time.
Furthermore the CPU has to drive 16 times twice the load on the
outputs. I dont know the FAN OUT of that lines...but...

If you want to watch videos with audio I /think? (not checked yet)
the Audio cape is the one to choose...

DVI in compbination with a LCD 7 attached to the board will not
work ... but I may be wrong.

From Chipsee I got a mail, which says that their multimedia
cape is not intended to be used with the LCD7 cape. At the
time the DVI with audio cape arrives, I didnt checked that, since
TIGAL had linked the schmetatics online and I found what I have
described above. I returned the package to TIGAL.

HTH!
Best regards,
