v0.0.15: bb-imager failure

running bb-imager-gui_0.0.15_x86_64.AppImage

with or without sudo, i get, what’s missing?

Please retest with v0.0.18 which got released over the weekend: Releases · beagleboard/bb-imager-rs · GitHub

and please share your “Board” and then “image” selection so i can smoke test it locally..

Regards,

i’ll retest in the morning,

image was PB2 IOT, think it had a date of 12/2025

this is being run on Ubuntu 22.04 desktop

?

that’s the one.

one other thing, i filled out most things in the config part. that gear looking thing.

The gear just appends a file in the fat filesystem, i have it always enable user password…

it should also work for you.. if v0.0.18 still fails, bug @ayush1325 here or on discord to debug it..

still issues, the sdcard most likely had an rpi image on it. do i need to reformat the sdcard before using bb-imager ??

very strange! what is your HOST OS stack? You should not have to pre-format anything..

(looked up.. ubuntu 22.04 desktop) anything special? (ubuntu, kde, cinnamon desktop?)

Strange indeed. Let me spin up an ubuntu 22.04 vm and test things.

Ubuntu 22.04.5 LTS \n \l
echo $XDG_CURRENT_DESKTOP
ubuntu:GNOME

latest release still fails

So, I tested flashing on ubuntu 22.04 vm just now, and it seems to work fine.

Can you maybe try flashing without any customization?

same issue

ERROR bb_imager_gui: Flashing failed with error: InvalidBootPartition

Can you try flashing an image with rpi-imager?

same issue

ERROR bb_imager_gui: Flashing failed with error: InvalidBootPartition
