Wandboard - just released Freescale i.MX6 Cortex-A9 from $69!?

Check out the new Wandboard - just released … http://www.wandboard.org/ Freescale i.MX6 Cortex-A9

From the site:

The Wandboard is a ultra low power complete computer with high performance multimedia capabilities based around the new upcoming Freescale i.MX6 Cortex-A9 processor and comes with a dazzling 1Ghz processor HDMI display interface and gigabit ethernet. The dualcore version of the Wandboard (The Wandboard DUAL) not only features 1GB of memory but also has onboard Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

very promising, but I don't see any info about when they are gonna
make it available

End of Novemeber it states shipping starts. Freescale seem to have made quite a concerted effort recently to get their mainline drivers up to scratch so it could be an interesting prospect. The only issue I have (and I know it's only a development board) is that dual-core boards tend to be loaded with (IMO) useless features like bluetooth/wireless. It would be nice to get a dual-core soc in the style of the beaglebone. However, at $89, it seems like a bona-fide bargain regardless.

Yeah - $69 for the single core - A real bargain!
My understanding is that there will be software provided with the unit also.

A great starting demo board to begin prototyping!

A piece of fr4 without software? It would be just a coaster for beer
