Hi jk
i read a lot of posts on this site back when the pocket beagle first came out, that indicated there were power issues. most seemed to be related to powering the SBC via the header. just going from an old memory.
We cut the connectors off and tested USB cables that are allegedly rated for 5 amps. Many of the ones sold on amazon and in local trinket shops would use the microfine data wires to carry the current. So don’t believe any of the complaints about power until the one complaining cuts the connector off and can show you it actually has a large diameter wire that will carry 5 amps. Plus, those wall supplies are typically meant for charging a battery so that is another issue.
The board can be bought at Farnell now. Is there any kind of spec page? Is Beagleboard preparing a dedicated page to the new pocketbeagle 2?
Like PocketBeagle 2 - BeagleBoard ?
interesting, Newark has Expected to Ship 6/11/25
and cost 2x what mouser shows on your post.
maybe i should see if i can cancel that order ??
I would.
I like that cape, we have some of the original pocketbeagles, never did use them. Might have been a pain to program or ???
Hopefully, GHI will be able to be more competitive once the tariffs kick in. Most certainly would like to see more USA manufactures.
Is there a 3d model of the PB2 available somewhere?
Techlab cape is good, still works great on PB2, it’s a good way to get Serial + MikroE and USB from the headers without much effort.
Do you know who created the images for the PocketBeagle2?
Thank you.
