Need more information regarding this.
Post all the steps you are taking prior to starting and the command line you are using to start bitbake.
If it is the first time building yocto image it is best to use core-image-minimal and all the default settings. Yocto has a done an excellent job with the BBB and it works very well. Go over all the steps in the getting started with yocto and see what happens.
Follow these instructions exactly as stated. Be sure you are on kirkstone of mickledore branches.

That is the huge problem with the internet, plenty of hucksters that don’t know much but are able to copy and paste. I did not even watch that video, just looking at the source it does not appear to be an official training video. I also question the use of the actual Yocto logo and and the Beagleboard IP displayed on the video. They are only interested in selling clicks, so keep that in mind.
If you want to make it work, go directly to the source and follow the instructions written by those actually involved with the yocto project.
Would you be posting on here looking for help if the video was correct…
