Why pocketbeagle get discontinued

Hello guys. I am from Brazil and am trying to buy some pockets for my project but there is no one available neither Digikey, Mouser and Farnell.

I some of them, they saind that the product is discontinued. Is it right? What could I do to buy some units? I find some on ebay but, respecting my country taxes I need to buy then from a formal importer.

Best regards.

On the mouser site is shows on order. You might change your exit node to USA or Europe, they are zoning.

Mouser cancelled all orders, and it is now marked as obsolete. It’s very unfortunate, as the pocketbeagle fit many of my needs.

You still can buy them here and there… at least in EU…

Yes, the PB is being retired in favor of the upcoming PB2,
which is scheduled to arrive some time in 2025.

For a while, we couldn’t get the SIPs. Now, the SIPs cost tremendously more than they used to and we can no longer produce a PocketBeagle at the price near where people originally paid. So, yes, we are focused on getting a SIP-free PocketBeagle 2 into production, and expect to get it shipping this year. For people that want to buy PocketBeagle at higher prices, we are exploring it, but feel it would be a disservice to ship to distribution at close to $100. Let me know if I’m wrong.

If the PocketBeagle 2 includes hardware implementation of Precision Time Protocol (PTP) support and Ethernet with speeds of 1 Gbps or higher, that would be a significant advantage. It would enable the creation of highly efficient, distributed sensor systems that are synchronized and capable of working together seamlessly.
