What Wifi chipset (Atheros AR9170, AR9271, AR7010, …) does BeagleV have?
I cannot find this information anywhere.

It uses Broadcom 43430 WiFi/BT chip in Ampak AP6212 module. It works with the upstream brcmfmac driver.
It does require this file from linux-firmware:
