Beagle Clinic (India) - A Monthly Geek Forum in India

Hi all,

I have been offered some space in Bangalore (India) to conduct
trainings, talks, presentations - monthly. I want to use this
opportunity to

- Understand the ongoing open source activity
- Share New Learnings
- Solve issues
- Understand the problems if any and get back with solutions
- Involve right R&D engineering teams from TI to guide and help us in
understanding and fixing our issues.

- Limited to TI technology but not limited to Beagle or OMAP3 (we can
look at Davinci, OMAP-L, and other platforms/architectures).
- Any one can attend, present, talk, etc (not limited to students or
professionals) - everyone is invited.

I don't or cannot own all tasks, I am looking for some volunteers or
form a beagle users group in India and have a "geek event" kind of
monthly meet.

The Agenda is unknown for now, we have to decide on many things. If
any one is interested (Preferably from India), reply back with name
and phone number.

Waiting for a positive response. Kindly forward this message to your contacts.

Regards,

Khasim

Hi,

Can you elaborate us on this? What is the kind of agenda that you are
looking for in these geek events?

Regards,
Prem

I don't know - All I know is
    - I have place to conduct this event
    - Probably sponsors for Lunch
    - Some folks who can talk and present and fix issues that we have
with OMAP, Davinci, etc.

I am looking at a team that can design this event, it could be anything from,

- Talking about a driver, a chapter from TRM
- Issue you might want to get some attention from TI or community
- Go through the latest community contributions.
- Workshop with boards
- Trainings
- ....
- ....
- .... GIVE YOUR THOUGHTS.

Regards
Khasim

Hi,

that will be good…
all folks together to share thoughts and ideas.
When this event will be conducted…any estimated date.

Thanks and Regards,
HarishKumar.V

As soon as we have volunteers to conduct and audience to attend,

Regards,
Khasim

Hi,

I would be interested in the event in terms of knowledge sharing
perspective. For those (like me) who are ramping on the board, I feel
this would be platform to catch a good knowledge base and sharing and
a leaning experience.
Any tentative date when it is being organised?

Regards,
Prem

Hi all,

So any decision has been taken ?
Better let us just meet first and share anything related to beagle and
more ... i think making any thing formal (such as agenda for meeting )
may not work out.

I got some direct confirmations and few mails as reply to discussion
list it self, as Viral suggested we need to start meeting than
discussing the agenda.

It might trigger others to join. I prefer Saturdays. Let me check on
the venue availability and get back to you all.

How about 30th May 2009. Can we continue on last Saturday of every month?

Can some one help me with blogging this initiative or setting up a
wiki to give out the info about the event.

Thanks for all your support. Hope this turns out to be useful to learn
any TI technology.

Regards,
Khasim

HI I would like to join this effort as well!

Regards
Kozak

Hello everyone,

I would be interested in attending such sessions and help in any way I can.It would be a good learning experience for beginners like me .

I think last saturday of every month is a good idea.

Bloggin/ wiki - I think its important to identify where we want to host it up - could be elinux’s wiki or a separate site. Once we identify that, I guess we can get going accordingly.

Hi Khasim,

Afternoons are better I guess! Can we have an agenda for the first
meeting? Or is it going to be some kind of introductory session?

Kozak

I suggest you guys decide on time and agenda, I am working on space and lunch

I prefer we should discuss a bit about
Open Embedded - as many have problems using it.
Talk about new boards like leopard, Realtime's beagle and low cost
tools like XDS 100.
SGX driver availability usage etc
DSP sources and its integration - how OE is better today.
Android efforts
Hardware issues that some one is looking into.
Support issues - how to address such things
Beagle India Contests for Professionals and students
Global Beagle Contests
Issues and concerns if any

Also put out a wiki to know how many are interested, just to get count
to order Lunch

Regards,
Khasim

Maybe you like to talk about low cost OpenOCD & e.g. Flyswatter, too?

maybe someone is interested in Linux solution, too

Actually, I had xds100 running with OpenOCD. XDS100 is a very simple
design and almost compatible with Flyswatter or other FTDI based
jtag adapters. Unfortunately, this makes XDS100 available for other
vendors products so TI does not want us to release patches(if such a
simple modification can be called a patch) for OpenOCD.

Best regards,
Caglar

Do we have a first meeting happening this month? If so when?

Prem

you could contribute for the arm specific changes for cortex_a8 if
possible.. that could speed up openOCD development a lot. Most of
cortex_a8 documentation is available publically..
