HDMI video not working on debian 8 with the Beaglebone-Black RevD

Hello!

Thanks in advance,

I’m looking for a way to enable HDMI video output on the BBB_revD using Debian 8.

I know the new video chip is the ITE IT66122, and I want to update the Debian 8 driver or kernel so it works with it.

Do you know if what I want to do is possible?

The version of Debian doesn’t really matter… What kernel version are you running? oldest kernel with some support is v5.15.x

I using the kernel version 4.4.54-ti-r93 I will try to upgrade to v5.15.x

the only real gotcha from that version to v5.15.x is if you used TI’s remoteproc “PRU” stack.. if your using uio, it’ll transition just fine..

That’s the smartest thing you’ve said so far.

In case you didn’t see the existing thread on the subject,
please do spend a little time looking through it all.

At least you’re not on a 3.x kernel, so that’s something,
but you people scare me. Debian 8, that’s what, Windows 95?
